To the Longsine Family and those associated:
My name is Shane Longsine son of Bill Longsine and Suellen Paulick.
I’ve recently moved to Oshkosh in hopes of getting closer to this great family, and teaching my children the importance of family. I am a painter and musician not unlike my father and am about to start marketing the two in the area.
Upon the planning of my strategy, I thought alot about my family in the area. For instance how I’d worked side by side with my cousins Danny and Corey, my uncle Chris and Tinker and thought about how rewarding that was to be able to get to know these great people and hear stories about their lives and to witness some of there ambitions in looking toward the future.
Shortly after moving here we all suffered the tragedy of losing one of our own, our cousin, son, brother, husband, nephew, and friend Jessie Diener.
I only got to share a few days of my life with Jessie, But those memories are a part of me forever. I can’t stop thinking that we would have gotten along great in the future, had we been given the opportunity to get reacquainted in our adult lives. But he is now gone, and those of you who read this are all that he has left.
Myself, as well as others I talked with at his funeral, headed home with a feeling that we should never take what we have for granted, and that we need to keep moving forward without hesitation in order to achieve our goals, because we know that one by one we will all be next. We will all miss you “Dynamite”
I started this website a few years ago for the Longsine Family but haven’t gotten to far with it. However, I will be putting a lot of time into it in the future. www.longsine.20fr.com
I will be changing it to www.Longsine.com soon.
My plan is to include:
- A message board where we can all leave our comments and feelings for all to read about, example “our family reunion, and current events“ this will be a good place to post if your looking for someone to go fishing - hunting - camping with or just to shoot the sh*t.
- A family history page that we can all share the old stories of times past. “I know there are some great ones”
- Also I will include a contact page with all emails and websites listed of those who participate in this family “Unless some of you do not want to be listed for whatever reason.” “this would be a good place for listing services offered ( Painters -Roofers - Baby Sitters - Lawn Care - Computer Troubles) remember to think “Family First” before you hire Poncho and Jose to build that garden shed. Also this will be a good place to list help wanted. I know there are a lot of relatives who could use some extra cash at times and myself, I will be listing in here for music help and painting help.
- I would like to include a Family tree with constant updates for all of us who keep popping out them darn kids. “ If any one has done any ancestral research please share it with us.
- A photo page for all of our families and of particular events. This would be a good time to scan all your favorite old and new photos and send them to me.
If any one needs help with all this computer junk I can walk you through a great deal of it to make things easier.
I will be sending out quarterly papers in the mail to you all as reminders to keep active in this family, also including updates and news of upcoming events. I will include business cards from those of us self employed for you to hand out to those who may need our services.
I know that this may seem a little strange to some of you , but that is a risk I am willing to make. Even it means getting to know just one more member of our wonderful family.
To some of us a family reunion once a year may be too much contact with family, and maybe you’d prefer that we stop having them all together, But not to me and I’m sure the majority of you feel the same way. Personally I want my kids to know there second and third cousins, aunts, uncles and of all the Great.
I would like to see family campouts where those who attend camp for the weekend and picnics in the warmer months. Anyhow, it’s time I start getting all your physical and email addresses, and send this letter out. If any of you can help to get this thing going please cal me (920)838-4425 or email me. shanelongsines@yahoo.com
With the hopes of a closer family,
Shane W. Longsine
